Phain
a very good album and a strong way to continue their subaquatic power dub!

Never heard of Porter Ricks before this album dropped. Saw the beautiful album art, sampled it on Juno, decided it wasn't for me and passed. Fast forward 3 months, was completely toasted in my apartment and stumbled into one of the tracks from this album on youtube. It started making sense. The heavy/fuzzy sounds sound totally badass once you get used to this sound which I find to be entirely unique to these guys as artists. It is not quite industrial, and it is not all dub techno, but it is definitely very dark and brooding. If you're not sure about this or are on the fence, I think its worth giving a try. The plates are super thick and they sound massive on my home setup (four 8inch powered monitors). This material would destroy in a club setting.
