From Animal Collective's AMA thread on r/indieheads: "HI, we actually just started getting rights back to a lot of the back catalog and we're going to figure out a system where we can just print them up on vinyl ourselves with help of our distributor. However that is not cheap, and usually there needs to be some sort of demand to justify the up front costs." I think Person Pitch has plenty of demand already. (And they just need to choose a good pressing plant this time)

Found one at amoeba for $10, really nice conditionDon't give in to these hyper-inflated prices, keep looking around store to store and you'll find one for a reasonable price

The music per se is great. Vinyl quality is poor. Side A & B is acceptable, side C & (especially) D is next to unlistenable.
Samugul
my first copy of the original batch had the same problems. nice lp1, unlistenable lp2. i think there were a lot of faulty ones on the first run. finally got a clean copy after 2 exchanges back then.

My copy is dead quiet and sounds absolutely great. You must've got a faulty pressing or something.

Wonder when they're gonna reissue it. I have a particularly bad copy (side D is so awfully off-centered Ponytail sounds like everything's drunk) and everyone's selling at these horrible prices.

Maybe they'll do something special for the 10th anniversary. Cant believe this release is getting that old.
Arith
Uhh when did this get so expensive?
Grarana
It'd be nice if it was packaged in gatefold.

Anyone interested in this release should be aware that you can buy it for $20 directly from Animal Collective's store. Also if you're seeing Panda Bear tour you may be able to snag a copy of Person Pitch, but they are selling out (at least they did at the show I went to). Don't give your money to scalpers when you don't have to!
Goldcrusher
Looks like it's sold out now.

Where can you buy it from their website? I can only find links to Amazon.

Why are people trying to sell this for $100+ ??

Great album, but presented poorly with this release.Despite being 45 minutes long, because of the song lengths the album is split across 4 sides. With the shortest side being under 10 minutes there's a lot of getting up and down to cue up the next track. The packaging is disappointing, there is a nice insert with artwork and acknowledgements but this is crammed into a single sleeve along with the two LPs. This makes it hard to get the records in and out and has meant the outline of the discs is now embossed on the sleeve of my copy. Also worth noting the song order is also slightly different to the CD release with "I'm Not" and "Good Girl/Carrots" switched.

The less music is on a side of vinyl, the better it sounds and the louder it is. The intention was clearly to make this one dj friendly, even if not all the tracks are playable in clubs. I think it was a briliant decision to give this album the 2xlp treatment. Look at Tomboy, which was first issued as one disc (and coloured vinyl!) and sounds muddy and lifeless. Later it got repressed as a four disc box set with the original album split across four sides.

Great album put together in decent enough, no frills packaging for this LP. Two nice heavy records packaged in a single "double wide" sleeve. Comes with a pretty cheap little folded insert with artwork and thank you's. Over all nothing spectacular but it sounds great and the music here speaks for itself.
