User reviews
this is a mix that, after 17+ years of exploring other musical styles, I have come back to (just bought the ltd long box) and love just as much as when I was into it 20 years ago. it has plenty of variety in sounds and never gets boring. one of my favourite tracks in the mix is the killer sphere tune, "gravitech" - a standout track indeed! also love underworld, moonface, francesco farfa, cass & slide, and luzon to name a few others. would also recommend anthony pappa's nubreed mix if you like this one.
A great prog mix comp that explores the darker side of progressive edm, especially on disc 2.
A journey from House to House. Excellent! Digweed! Digweed! DJ JD FTW
According to Hard To Find Records' Website there was a 3 x 12 vinyl release of this mix available to buy, featuring the following tracks ; 1 - Madder Rose - Overflow (Fc Kahuna Mix)2 - Adny Presents Leiva - Something For The Soul3 - Francesco Farfa - Tribe & Trance4 - Pob - Glide5 - Hole In One - Amrah In The 7th Phase6 - Ingmar - To The Rescue...Firstly, has anyone ever seen this or even still got it? and secondly is it a legit press or another of HTFR's own presses?
That was an officially released by the GU. Yes, I have it.

Aged well.sans hyperbole Hkas an astonishingly good hook threading through the latter half of disc one. Very good overall, but that disc 1 run is so impressive its worth pursuing. Œ
Hong Kong is a jumble of styles, and it goes in many divergent directions. You have some progressive house, you have some progressive trance, you have a a variety of moods. The end product is not very coherent and as a result you have a mix that sounds like a compilation of late 90s prog hits. This release is overrated by many and I felt we did not see Digweed at his best on this one.
I agree with them two, the Salt City Orchestra mix of Underworld's "Cups" is so groovy, I refer to it as Space-Age Funk. One of the best opening tracks with its tripped out vocals. It's all there LSG, Lexicon Ave, Cevin Fischer, Tilt, Moonface, of course Digweed and Muir aka Bedrock. Hong Kong is definatly an essential set, a must have. John rules live in person and in your stereo. Get a clue.
The previous reviewer is correct - the first track on the first disc is great. The first disc then goes pretty dark around the middle and comes back up for a fairly uplifting ending (that Medway track is pretty cool). The second disc is my favourite, it's basically a lot of progressive trance/house tracks put together really well. The set doesn't have any real peaks or climaxes but rather has a great pace throughout - and the way Digweed makes the first 4 tracks is just excellent (so is the rest). Yep - after Sasha - Ibiza (i prefer that because I like Trance more than house) this is prob the best GU release so far that I have heard.
